Dr. Rendani Makahane holds a BSc degree in Geology, a BSc Hons in Geology, an MSc degree in Geohydrology, and a PhD in Geohydrology all from the University of the Free State. She served as a Postdoctoral Researcher for 2 years at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal focusing on The application of Water Accounting Plus (WA+) in Southern Africa (South Africa, Eswatini, and Mozambique). She also served at the United Nations Environmental Programme as a Program Management Associate. Rendani has concluded various specialist reports as a consultant and has over 7 years of experience in research and consulting in environmental and geoscientific work. She is registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions as a Professional Scientist. Rendani is currently a lecturer at the University of Zululand, Department of Hydrology. Her research interests include groundwater modeling, groundwater monitoring, groundwater exploration, water resource monitoring and management, application of remote sensing in water resource management, and more.
