Dr. Linto Alappat is an accomplished academician and researcher with a rich background in geology, specifically focusing on quaternary geology, coastal geomorphology, and fluvial processes. Holding a Ph.D. in Quaternary Geology from Germany, Dr. Alappat has amassed over a decade of teaching experience, primarily at Christ College Autonomous, Thrissur, Kerala, India. His research interests span luminescence dating, geomorphology, geo-archaeology, sedimentology, remote sensing, and GIS, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach towards understanding geological phenomena. His involvement in funded research projects, both at the national and international levels, underscores his expertise and the relevance of his work in addressing contemporary geological challenges. Dr. Alappat’s academic contributions are complemented by his recognition through prestigious awards like Leibniz DAAD and other fellowships, and grants, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in his field. Moreover, his engagement in collaborative initiatives, such as Pattanam archaeological excavations and outreach programs, highlights his holistic approach to research and education. Dr. Alappat currently serves as an Assistant Professor and holds the position of Dean of Research Development and Teaching Learning Center at Christ College Autonomous, Thrissur, Kerala.
