Professor. Sivakumar Venkataraman, is currently working at University of KwaZulu Natal (2011-) and has been seconded with Department of Science and Innovation, as a Director for National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme (NASSP, http://nassp.ukzn.ac.za) (2016-). Previously, he has been worked in India Space Research Organization (1998-2002), Universite de la Reunion (CNRS, UMR 8105, 2002-2006), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR, South Africa, 2006-2011).  His work focused on atmospheric studies (from the ground to Ionosphere) using different ground-based and space-borne observations.  He has developed a Mobile LiDAR system in 2009 and refurbished a fixed Rayleigh-Mie LiDAR system at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN).  He is actively involved in various levels of teaching (first year to third year) and post-graduate supervisions (Honours, Master, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral).  He has published about 250 research articles (128 Journal, 116 peer reviewed conference proceedings), 1 book and 5 book chapter.
